Mercury thermometer is a traditional glass thermometer, and it is also widely used in hospitals because it has many advantages, such as accurate reading, high stability, low price, no need for power supply, easy cleaning, easy disinfection, and simple usage. But it also has many drawbacks, such as difficulty in reading, long measurement time (5-10 minutes), glass material, easy to break, and the leaked mercury after breaking can pollute the environment and harm human health.

Ear temperature guns and forehead temperature guns mainly rely on sensors to receive infrared radiation from the human body to determine body temperature. However, forehead temperature guns are convenient and fast, and are often used in places with high pedestrian traffic such as kindergartens, amusement parks, airports, and train stations that require rapid screening of fever patients. But infrared temperature measurement is too easily affected by environmental temperature, and it can only work within a certain temperature range.

In addition, there is an electronic thermometer placed under the armpit. The electronic thermometer outputs electrical signals through temperature sensors, which are then converted into digital signals that can be recognized by internal integrated circuits. Finally, the display shows the temperature. Its accuracy error generally does not exceed 0.1 ℃, but aging electronic components and insufficient battery power may affect accuracy.
